2010 Government Subsidised Places
Headmasters Academy offers Government Subsided Places (GSP) from Certificate II to Diploma to Australian students.
Students enrolled in a GSP at Headmasters are required to pay a tuition fee and a student amenities fee. There are also costs for mandatory equipment and resources related to courses.
Eligibility Rules
Students will be assessed against eligibility criteria before acceptance into a Government Subsidised Place.
You must be:
an Australian citizen; or a holder of a Permanent Visa; or a holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444); or East Timorese asylum seeker; or a holder of a Temporary Protection Visa; and:
- aged under 20 years on 1 January 2010; or
- aged 20-24 years on 1 January 2010 and seeking a higher qualification than already held; or
- a retrenched worker over 25 seeking a qualification higher than the qualification already held.
GSPs at Headmasters are also available for anyone wishing to study for a Diploma qualification if they do not already hold an equivalent or higher qualification.
Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria should discuss other options with the Headmasters local admissions team. Concession entitlements may be available and students are encouraged to speak with Headmasters about their circumstances.
2010 Fees and Charges
In 2010 the fees payable will be made up of three components:
- Tuition Contribution (set by Victorian Government Ministerial Directions)
- Student Services Fee
- Course related fees for learning materials, equipment and uniform
Tuition fees will be calculated for each student individually. This is because a number of factors can affect the calculation – the number of hours a student is enrolling in, whether or not you have been granted some RPL, the time of the year you are commencing, whether or not you have already paid for some training in that year, what calendar year you intend to undertake the training in, whether or not you have reached a set maximum or fee cap, and whether or not you may be eligible for a concession.
Students enrolling in 2010 will incur fees shown. The following rules will also apply:
- Fees are calculated based on the number of hours enrolled within a calendar year
- Fees are not transferable from one calendar year to the next
- The Tuition Contribution will be charged differently for each course as outlined in the following table.
- The yearly fee will be rounded to the nearest Australian dollar.
- The fee structure sets a minimum tuition fee payable for enrolment along with a maximum fee chargeable.
The overall annual maximum tuition fee payable by a student in a GSP at Headmasters for 2010 is $2,000!

- The Student Services Fee is $80.
Equipment/Uniform Fee
Speak to the local admissions team about equipment/uniform costs for your course.
