CHAMPIONSHIPS & AWARDS NIGHT Hilton on the Park was a buzz with hairdressing and beauty students on Sunday the 24 May for the 2009 Headmasters Championships and Awards Night.Excited family, friends and facilitators were treated to a spectacular production of hair and beauty model parades showing off the talent and artistic flair of the industries’ newest rising talent. The Headmasters Championships and Awards Night was created by Headmasters founders Donna and Wayne Gannon over 13 years ago. Their inspiration was to give students a pathway to express their passion, creativity and to set their imaginations free. Students were judged in 12 competition categories including, Cutting Edge (Men’s & Ladies), Next Generation Blow Wave, Colour Me Beautiful (Men’s and Female awards), Red Carpet, Around Your World, Fantasy Make-Up and the most popular Fantasy Hair. Headmasters took time to recognise their students’ commitment in a selection of student awards.Categories included Fastrack Student of the Year, Beauty Student of the Year, Apprenticeship Student of the Year, Student of the Year, VCALHair & Beauty Outstanding Student and Apprenticeship Student On The Job. Highlights being the most coveted, Salon Award going to Rokk Ebony and the highest honour, Headmasters Championship Award, was won by Daniella Barca from Rokk Ebony winning $1000. The Headmasters Championships and Awards Night is the highlight of the year for students whose creative flair is raised year on year.2009 was exceptional with 281 total entries and over 750 guests.Students far exceeded all expectations in all categories with special mentions being made for the Fantasy Make-Up and Fantasy Hair entrants who reached new heights of creativity and amazed audiences with their spectacular imaginations.
